I was shampooing my carpets when the water storage tank fall off and broke the handle.My first thought was I guess I will have buy a new shampoo machine.I then thought about a replacement handle,where will I find a product like this?Keyed in Hoover on my computer and it took me to Amazon and I was able to find the product used or new that was available.Bought a new handle and received it in the mail in a week or so.It worked great and was very inexpensive.

This brush is very gentle on hardwood and laminate flooring. I debated whether to buy this because my Bosch Formula already comes with a motorized brush that you flip a switch to turn on the brush rollers.However the brush roller is very aggressive and is great for non scratch flooring like tile and vinyl. I have used the Hard Floor Brush and it gets the dirt to where the vacuum can pick it up. The motorized brush without turning on the brush rollers just moves the dust around. I shopped price and Go-Vacuum was the best price, and they were quick to ship.

Dyson Mini Turbine Tool Review

If you're reading this then you've probably experienced one of two things:1.) your animal tool on the purple Dyson finally choked and died or 2.) you have a Dyson and are interested in this tool because it picks up animal hair.Either way, both reasons are why I bought the Dyson in the first place.

This is the attachment/upgrade for the animal tool that was originally put out.The old one (all grey) was EXCELLENT and always got all the hair/lint/whatever off anything I had -- including throw pillows.The problem with the old animal tool was that it was impossible to clean out in case anything got clogged inside of it which eventually kills it.So... this tool that you're looking at is pretty much Dyson's answer -- it's redesigned and been put out.There are plenty of Pros and Cons:

PROS:
- It does work on throw pillows but you have to brush a little lighter.In fact, sweeping side to side almost works better than up and down.

- It can be opened up to clean out any part of it -- something the old one can't do.

- It can fit any Dyson model available.

CONS:

- Unfortunately, it doesn't work as well as the old model (now discontinued) without some patience.

- There is an air filter on it that if bumped, closes and stops the brush from spinning.You'll notice if it does -- just pull it out.Bit of a pain, but not horrible.

- The brush does stop spinning if you flatten it against the material -- this part doesn't make sense to me.Isn't that the point?To get close to the fabric and pull off every bit of fiber you don't want?The original did it just fine.

- At the $69 pricetag I've seen just about everywhere, I feel that this is a SERIOUS error on Dyson's part. This does not perform nearly as well as the old one and therefore overpriced.If there was a discount or a price reduction for those of us who own a Dyson, I'd be happier but this is the first time I've said one of Dyson's products is somewhat of a ripoff.

BOTTOM LINE:

Whelp, if you owned the old one and it's toast I'm afraid that this is your only option.Is it worth it?Well, it still does better than any vacuum attachment I've ever seen but performs at 65% best compared to the discontinued model.Buyer look around for it to (hopefully) be discounted.I could see paying half that price but nowhere is it listed lower.Otherwise, I hope Dyson reads this and either improves it or lowers the price.

2 and 1/2 stars would be my choice: It's half as good as the old one.

Roomba, Scooba KeepOut Strips Fits All Roomba and Scooba Products, Robot Add On's Part 6018-1001 Review

I got these stripes today and checked them out immediately. I had hoped for a heavier, more flexible material with a rubber sole beneath, which would adjust itself through it's own weight and the rubber adherence on the floor: that would have been a simple, effective and really mobile solution.
But ufortunately they are quite lightweight with just adhesive strips beneath, which didn't even last a minute on my hard floor:
At the first contact with my roomba they loosened and at the second contact they lost their grip totally, so that the roomba at one time pushed them aside and run directly into the "protected" area (whereas one stripe clung to the roomba) and the other time it simply drove over them i a quite fast pace.
So, without attaching the stripes they don't work and the adhesive strips don't last more than a minute. That is really a pitty. On the other hand the customer service is extremely good and friendly and the keep- off mat works just fine. Therefore 3 stars ....

Panasonic MC-UL675 AeroSpin Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Dirt Sensor, Sherbert Blue Review

The saleswoman at my Best Buy store recommended this vacuum to me based on the previous Panasonic that they used to stock. I guess she figured that if the old one was so wonderful this new one mush be as well.

I got it home and there were a few things that I really liked. The fact that it automatically adjusted for different carpet heights, the retractable cord and the fact that it said the dirt cup was anti-static so as to release the dirt easier when emptying.

What I soon found out was that this vacuum has quite a few short comings. It is very top heavy. When standing up on carpet, the slightest touch will make it tumble backwards. The retractable cord which I was excited about ended up being rather short. I was not even able to vacuum my entire (average size) master bedroom without having to unplug it to finish. The lights that are supposed to tell you if they floor is clean or dirty are annoying and I think really just a gimmick. The turbo brush is really in an awkward spot on the handle and while pushing the vacuum in the reclined position, the hose continually falls out of the grove meant to hold it.

I finally decided to return it and purchase a Healthy Home. To my surprise, it turned out that the Panasonic really wasn't even working to well. I was able to vacuum my whole house and the dirt cut was about 1/2 full. They next day when I used the Healthy Home, I had to empty it after only doing my family room.

Bottom line, Don't bother with this Panasonic.

Black and Decker VF100H Replacement Filter for HEPA 15.6-Volt Cyclonic DustBuster Review

Thought I'd pass this tip on to other users of the Dustbuster cyclonic models ...

I have the 15.6 volt Hepa model, CHV1500. Needed to get a filter so I called Black and Decker to see if the VF100 (instead of the VF100H) would fit my model. They said yes, but told me I could also buy part 244631-00 instead. (BTW, this is the pleated paper filter.) I asked what the difference was, and they said the only difference was that VF100/VF100H comes in a fancy retail box. But part #244631-00 just comes in a plastic bag. Another difference ... and this is the best part ... the 244631-00 costs about $3 each versus more than 3 times as much for the retail boxed version. So I ordered two of the 244631-00 secondary filters, plus a plastic washable pre-filter as I wanted an extra one of those too. The part number for the pre-filter is 598083-00 and costs about $1.25 or so. With shipping, the entire order came to just $11.41! Shipping wasonly about $3 or so. If you order the more expensive boxed filters, shipping will be $7.99 insteadsince the total dollar amount of your order will be more. So if you want filters, don't get the boxed ones. Call Black & Decker at 888-678-7278 and order the unboxed parts. I can assure you these parts are identical and work fine. My order just arrived today (took about 1 week to get here) and I just switched out the entire filter assembly that came with my dustbuster with the new pre-filter and secondary filter. Works fine, and now I can still use my dustbuster while I wash the original filter assembly and let it dry for 24 hours.

I'm not exactly sure what each part costs as I ordered over the phone and the shipping slip didn't have prices, but I checked my credit card account and the total charge was as they told me it would be -- just $11.41 for two secondary filters and one pre-filter plus shipping! So the prices I listed above are close. Order through that phone number and you'll save money too!

Since my son was 2 years old, he's been enamored with vacuum cleaners. He's never gotten tired with a toy Dirt Devil vaccum at the pediatrician's office, so I decided to get him a miniaturized version of our Miele Aquarius. Generic Eureka HEPA Filter Designed To Fit Eureka Style DCF-3 Part # 62136 (Old Part # 61825) Review

Eventually the rubber seal on the top of these filters wears out, and when that happens, the performance of your vacuum drops off. Finding a new genuine Eureka filter is difficult, so I was glad to see these on Amazon.

This filter is fine, as a filter, but it is not an exact match for the DCF-3. It's a little too tall, and the inner diameter is a little too small. It is difficult to get the lid on over this filter, and once you've jammed the filter on far enough to get the lid on, it is very hard to take the filter off again to clean it.

So I'd have to recommend going with the genuine Eureka, not this generic "Eureka" (it is NOT actually a Eureka part - and the product tag is misleading) - if you can find it.

Electrolux Washable Relacement HEPA Vacuum Filter EL012W Review

Early 2008 I bought from Amazon the Electrolux Harmony Canister Ultra Quiet Vacuum #EL6985A (factory refurbished), one of these washable filters sold by Ace Photo Digital, and 2 boxes of 36 Electrolux Generic Harmony/Oxygen Vacuum Bags sold by United Vacuums through Amazon. I had called Electrolux at that time to get more information and this is what I ended up buying. I am happy with my products - all are great. I recommend getting all three products - a new or factory refurbished Harmony Vacuum would be a good choice unless you have high shag type carpeting. I basically wanted to be "all set" for quite some time and not have to worry about finding what I needed in an emergency or keep putting off buying filters until I completely ran out or something. One of the review comments wondered why someone would buy 2 washable filters. To be honest, I haven't yet used my washable filter to date as my other filter is still just fine. I think I recall that the washable filters can be washed "so many times" before they should also be replaced. But, I bought just one as that is what I felt I needed.

This product is supposed to fit a capture vacuum.It needs to fit snuggly into the chamber to keep the next filter and the sides of the filter chamber from getting dirty.If it was a smidgen bigger all around it would fit nicely, but alas it is not cut to fit perfectly so it does not do a good job of filtration.Next the filter material is not of the same density as the original product that came with my vacuum.I am very dissapointed with these filters.I purchased two packages so I got 4 filters so that I could change the filter after each vacuum so that I can keep all of my other filters clean and new.These do such a poor job that dirt gets down to the next filter and on to the hepa filter.If this filter is kept clean it keeps your suction optimal.These need to go back to the drawing board.

Miele Steel Telescopic Wand . Miele Part # 05658811 Review

I had the original power wand, but I don't have any carpet. After a few years, the cord got stuck in the adjustable power wand and became unusable. I found this unit here and have been using it ever since.

I have had it for a while now. I use the vacuum at least twice per week, and I adjust the length constantly. The wand has never failed to extend or retract as needed and it is lighter than the power wand. If you must use the power head, you need a power wand and will have to pay the high price for that, but if you just have wood and tile floors like me, you can replace the power wand with this non powered wand without any trouble, and it is lighter too.

Black & Decker VF08 Replacement Filter Review

This replacement filter works well with the Black and Decker Cordless Vacuum CHV1568. The manual says to replace the filter every 6-9 months but I seem to use up the filters much quicker even with washing the filters.

To Beth: The vacuum uses a single filter. And there is a filter housing (that holds the filter) that must be re-attached to the vacuum motor housing. The old filter should be pulled out from the housing and replaced with a new filter. The filter housing has 3 holes that go back onto the vacuum motor housing. Basically, you should be doing the opposite of Figure G to re-attach the filter housing -- fit the filter housing into place over the 3 pegs (2 on top, 1 on bottom) and twist counter-clockwise.
